If you are a physician group wanting to access accurate and complete information related to patient records, a clearinghouse integration along with medical billing software can be your best answer. A Clearinghouse provides optimum information exchange between multiple healthcare stakeholders through a single, secure network. The Clearinghouse used by 360 Medical Billing Solutions is owned by competing health plans that merged into a single network with the goal of reducing costs and streamlining workflow. Your access to this Clearinghouse eliminates excessive fees that providers typically pay for billing and claims transactions. The collaborative business model of this Clearinghouse is unique and highly effective. In less than 10 years, we’ve become one of the nation’s largest electronic health information networks, processing hundreds of thousands of transactions every year.
How the Clearinghouse Network Works
An electronic claim file is generated by the billing software on our desktop. The file is uploaded to your Clearinghouse account. The Clearinghouse then scrubs the claim checking it for errors. When the claim is error-free and accepted, it is securely transmitted by the Clearinghouse in an electronic format to the specified payer via a secure connection that meets the strict standards laid down by HIPAA.
A status message indicating acceptance or rejection is sent back to the Clearinghouse which automatically updates the claim status in our account. We receive an alert by email about the status. If the claim is rejected, we have a chance to make needed corrections and then re-submit the claim. Ultimately assuming there are no other corrections needed and the patient’s insurance is valid, we receive a reimbursement check along with an explanation of benefits (EOB).
